I officially leave for Hawaii on July 8 to start my new job out there. For those of you who don't know I got a job offer through my dad to go work for someone who runs a woodworking business out in Hawaii I will be out there for at least a year I will be staying with him out there so I just have to pay for food and my way around out there.  I will be leaving out of Cleveland going to Chicago and then to Honolulu and I have the same flight schedule when I come back home on December 18. The only thing about this that I don't like is the flight from Chicago to Honolulu because I truly hate long flights and I thought that the 8 hour flight I had to Italy was bad this is going to be worse hopefully I will be able to sleep through most of it. Once I come back I will finally have some money and time to work on the Charger I will need to find a computer so I can post pictures for you guys and so I can buy parts for the Charger as well. And my last day of work where I am at now is June 30 I can't wait for that day to come even though I will miss the people I work with.

Congrats on the gig...man, if ya gotta be relocated ANYWHERE (short of Amsterdam or Munich), Hawaii's the place to be...nice. Good luck! :2thumbs:

I will be out there for a year but it was cheaper to book a round trip flight than a one way so I figured I would come home for Christmas. I am then only one from my family going because I just finished high school and this will probably be the only chance I get to do something like this.

You need someone to clean up the sawdust?

That will probably be my job to start off with but if I show interest in this work I can go out to sites and help install the trim pieces in building and then I could start running the mills and make up to $22 and hour which is 3x what I make now.

I saw your other post.

Im glad you decided to go.

Maybe it wont turn out to be one of the best things in your life.

But at least you wont wake up 20 years from now wondering  "what if?"

I think your going to love it.

If I could ever get over my fear of flying, I'd like to go someday just to see the Arizona. Have fun.

I love Hawaii and flight!!!

Have a great time.

You're gonna have a hard time getting any work done. Now, if it was a year long stint in Fillmore Utah, you'd get plenty of work done. ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Congrats & best of luck.

Hope it works out, even if only for short term. A chance like that is once in a lifetime to the average person. The closest thing I had to an opportunity like that was over 22 years ago when someone I knew bought an old POS 35' sail boat in Florida & had to get it back to New York. He needed a fourth person to help sail it, so I volunteered. The only boat I ever remember being on prior, was the Staten Island Ferry when I was a kid.

I learned that I don't particularly like sailing, but that sail boat trip was awesome & something I won't ever forget. Like that one night halfway into the trip when the deisel engine crapped out during a heavy storm & we tried to drop anchor, in a bay, at night.   I guess that's why I like land.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Well the internet decided to work for me again. I am sure I will have a great time while I am out there. I have a feeling that this month is going to drag on a bit even though I have a lot to do before I head out there.
