I can tell you this much, there are also plenty of tribes living in other parts of the world that aren't known either. In the 7 1/2 years I was in Thailand there was a discovery of a tribe of 400 that was previously unknown to exist. They were a nomadic tribe that had been traveling between the north east of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and all of the way over to Mynmar. Its not unheard of for a group of people to have gone this long without any contact with the rest of civilization.
