The Comps work better with a straight plug head. For that matter so do the Supercomps. If you plan to upgrade to an angled plug head in the future (Edelbrock/Indy) just do yourself a favor and order a set of TTI's  :Twocents:

just run some stealth heads, they will work fine with hookers headers

Not necissarily. The stealth heads will work better than Indy/Edelbrock with the Hooker Comps/Supercomps because the plugs are straight...no debating that.

But, the Hooker headers are also wider in terms of fitment...which often causes interference with steering boxes, torsion bars etc...and they need to be bent to clear. TTI is by far a superior design....they hug the block and there is loads of clearance in the critical areas. The reality is that these 2 products are worlds apart.  ;)

For those who allready have an angled plug head like myself....TTI is the clear choice. Plug changes will take 20 minutes instead of 2 hours....and no burned plugwires/boots to worry about.  :icon_smile_big:

The Hooker design is 30 years old....long before angled plug heads were ever concieved. Hooker really needs to update that antiquated design  :Twocents:

what was wrong with ceramic coating on your headers? Did you purchase them directly from manufacturer or used? Was it peeling? I would think you would be able to exchange them if you were to buy them new from manufacturer/dealer under the warranty.

interesting. I bought a set off of ebay and coating was nice and thick on them. IM not sure how yours got rusty. I would think you should be able to exchange them for a better set if you bought from a reputable shop.

it appears to me that no one is even looking at hedman...perhaps its because they are trash, but i haven't really heard that from the people i've talked to.  they aren't crazy expensive by any means and i liked what i read, but who knows.  It seems that however the header pie gets sliced (unless its a slice of tti's :icon_smile_big:) that your going to be bound to have fitment issues and such...which ones are the most durable is what i'm wondering...

Even TTI's have their problems..take a look on the "other" mopar board for a good read. The ceramic coating on my Hookers looks really good. A friend of mine had a set of Hooker 1 7/8 ceramics on his 493 and the coating held up good at the 3 yr mark when he sold the car and I wonder if they are still looking good.

ceramic coating should be fine for years to come as long as you don't dyno your engine or break it in with c/c coated headers on there.

Once again Ill mention how much I hate my super comps. I just got my engine put back together and I have one heck of a time getting gaskets to seal up. I am now trying to layer gaskets together to try and get them to seal. Its just mine for some reason are not flush on the gasket side and are very hard to get to seal up. But that is my set, another set could be perfect for all i know  :scratchchin:  I am going to try 2 Mr. gaskets ultra seal gaskets  on the one side to try and seal things up.
