First off, this is BS.

Secondly, I don't waste my time with any women who is interested in me because of what I drive.

The comments at the bottom are priceless.

A Fact of Life: After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF.........

Chad L. Magee

As the chief nerd here, I felt the need to do something about this matter.  I emailed the writer of the article to get him to "prove" his theories with some actual hard data.  I gave him some hard facts involving the direct opposite of his theories using friends cars in this town (a Mazda 323 and a BMW 740li).  He also got a challenge from me to build an eco-friendly sports car, as a means to actually do something good for the world, rather than just stirring the pot with his articles.  The challenge is part of a personal project that I myself am working on.  I will let you know if/when he replies back......

Article is total opposite of my experience. Been driving the Toyota to pay the bills  past 3 yrs. [gotta cut corners to afford parts with this crappy economy] If you wanna be invisible to the opposite sex [and police] is what you should drive. When girls at bank etc. found out I was restoring Chargers, they practically jumped me right there. They want to get pictures taken laying across the hood when it's finished. Don't worry I will post them here!

This article writer probably believes that girls really want a nice & sensitive guy instead of a cocky jerk, too.

What women say they want is a totally different question from what actually works on them.

My comment was one SIMPLE question.  "They sell MEN'S cars where you got that TURD?????

;D ;D

Most the women I know dont even know what an environmentally friendly car is.

Much less pick one out of a crowd.

Just today my ex called and asked me what I was doing.

I told her I was working on my car.

She said "how is the dodger coming anyway?"

I said "you mean Charger?"

She said "YA charger"

But that woman can smell an expensive car from a mile away.

I got an email back the other night from the writer of the article, mostly to say how he is correct and I am wrong in thinking that women go after the $ cars first.  I guess I was a bit of a smart azz when I suggested that the 90% of women that he is attracting due to his econocar was the lower rung on the evolutionary ladder and he needed to learn "quality over quantity".  He got offended by that comment (don't care), claiming that he knows great econogirls, to which I replied that the econogirls around here usually look homeless as they haven't bathed in a week, so take all of them that you want.  He tried to claim that his research was scientific, but yet he never responded with the details of how he took the data, where the information pool came from or even how old the "girls" were.  I commented in the orginal email that I drive restored classic musclecars, to which he responded that it would be better to restore Tercels/Metros.  With that, I expained that there was a reason why my cars are worth $ many years after they were built (something neither of those two models will be able to claim later on, except for the lone examples that have not fallen totally apart) and that the turds that he suggested have no class (which I am sure offended him more).  He has not emailed me back since. :smilielol:......

As a single guy, I have met ONE woman (recently) who was offended by my old cars. We weren't compatible for many other reasons as well but that one was near the top. For the record, she lived downtown, had at least one advanced degree and was very liberal leaning. As for the article, I'd say that city dwellers on either coast are more likely to fit the writer's findings. In the midwest and western states, I'm sure there are more women attracted to big 4x4s or fast and loud cars than "green" vehicles (I have met at several of those). It would be interesting to see what age group the writer polled as well. It certainly doesn't seem like a definitive study from my experience.

Actually, he does have to build one to prove his worth.  What I proposed in the actual challenge to him is one just like that using only solar power as the energy source, since most wind/water energy would not be very efficient on a real production vehicle.  (Or he could make one that runs solely on H2 and O2 gas after electrolysis of water from either solar/wind/water electrical sorces, but that is more of a challenge to do on a larger scale.)  The Tesla car you mention needs electricity and so far it does not come from solar power (which would be more "clean" than what is currently being sold).  The majority of the electricity in the USA power grids does not come from what most environmentalists classify as "green sources" of energy, so I am going to use that idea against him if he wants to go the easy way out.  The technology is there if someone wants to get it done as I have proposed, so I threw down the gauntlet in the orginal email to see how "green" he actually is.....
