I'm looking at one of these trucks to purchase at a local dealership who bought it from a pool of Chrysler lease returns. They had to replace a few front end parts, and they also put 4 new 20" tires on it.
It has approximately 72,000kms (45,000 miles) on it.
I've seen them going for as little as $7500 on Ebay, to as much as $26K on Autotrader.com.
The dealer was asking $25K, offered me only $2K for my '96 Ram SLT 4X4 extended cab. So $23K is the difference.
I offered $20K, with trade - taxes included.
And I was turned down flat!!!
Anybody have a black book value?

I think that is way too much for an 04. Whats the sticker price on an 08 I mean with todays gas prices you can't give a Hemi Truck away.

I agree that the price is high. I bought my 2004 with the same package you're looking at except it has an 8' bed, & not a Sport, as a leftover in July of 2005. It had a $36,000 sticker & I paid $23,000 back then.

Maybe I should be happy...? :scratchchin:

Over the years I've only bought two vehicles at dealerships, and both times I paid too much.

Now with the Canadian and US currency running close together in value, crossing the border for a better deal is always an alternative.
I just don't get it though, why the big difference in "value" on the same truck, from one side of the border to the other??

Maybe I should offer my '68 Charger R/T as trade....?

I'm surprised the dealerships aren't just about giving them away with the price of fuel.  Maybe the days of folks who actually use a truck for what it's designed for will come back.  I know there's not many.

Neighbor's Father is in town from Detroit and he said the dealerships are telling people not to bring in their SUV's for trade in and to sell them outright before coming in.  Maybe coming down here could save ya' some coin?  :shruggy:   I wouldn't think it'd take much more money to get into a new one.

way WAY too high. you can get an 08 hemi quab cad 4x4 for $26k. look them up. an 04 is already down to $20k.. and $2k for a 4x4 trade in is a joke. you're getting hosed both ways

Only if I let it happen.
I told the salesman that this could be the easiest sale of his career...providing they don't go and get all stupid on me....which they promptly did.
Maybe it's the "kick me" sign on my back?? I should take that thing off!!

I definately find it amazing that the sticker price for an '08 Daytona is 10k more in Canada than in the US and they are MADE in Canada!

Is it just me or is that door emblem crooked as a politician?  On top of the crappy price, it's probably been wrecked.

Man I bought the same truck, 2WD and Non Sport, for around 17500 TWO YEARS AGO!!! You are getting HAMMERED!!!!! Right now dealers can't sell trucks as it is, and the dealer probably over bid the truck at auction.

I'd keep looking and search dealers and use Autotrader.com. I just put in what I wanted and bought a truck with 21k and it was a LOCAL dealer.

He's knocking your HEAD off!!!
