How do you remove the accelerator pedal completely? I unbolted it to put the carpet in, but couldnt figure out an easy way to completely remove it.  I want to swap in one with the pedal dress up on it from a 77 Cordoba. They look identical. Should they be? It looks like the bezel is part of the pedal and not removable. Is that correct? I see the ones in the Year One catalog for the E-bodies are a press on piece but with no strip down the center. Should the e-brake pedal have a bezel? I've got the the brake pedal bezel and it actually looks good. I didn't think it would make a difference.

1) are you talking about the pad only? if so there is a rool pin on the back that needs pounded out.

2) i dont know if they are the same

3) the Bezel is removeable

4) the parking brake should have bezel

So should I be able to remove the accelerator pedal pad chrome bezel without totally disassembling it?

Nacho-RT74

probably, but be sure about the lenght first

Yes you were right the gas pedal bezel from the 77 Cordoba was too short for my 73 gas pedal. For some reason I didn't pickup up the gas pedal, but the wire for the throttle cable had already been cut anyway. I'm going to order the parking brake bezel from Year One which says it will fit 66-74 B-bodies. But will the gas pedal bezel for a 71-72 B-body fit on the 73. Year One shows to have one for a 71-72 B-body but I know I've gotten parts from them that said they stop at 72 but fit just right on my 73. Do you think it would work?

as far I remember gas pedal is the same, changes from 73 where just on brakes pedals ( both ).

I simply changed the complete pedal for the shorter one. Was NOS and difference allmost unapreciable.
