All Is Not Lost!!!

In a world filled with strokers who have lawyers on speed dial, neighbors who call code enforcement if your grass has weeds in it, criminals, and generally shitty people......you tend to get a bit jaded about society/humanity.  you start thinking that you are the only one who's not a total jerk.  Well...today....I was out in the charger with my 4 year old son.  I'm driving past a house about 2 blocks from mine, and I see a '70 roadrunner sticking out from a garage. As I drive past, I see the guy take a few steps out and look.  I turned around and went back. Very nice guy and he's lived there for 10 years, just like me.  I knew something was up, I have seen all sorts of stuff in his driveway over the years.  A viper, Impala SS, cobra kit car....this runner he has now is very nice. black, 20's/19's on it, 383 4 speed with no console and buckets and ralleye dash.  We BS'd mopars and had a nice few minutes. Then the other neighbor with a lift in his garage for the GTO's and such comes over. 

Totally cool having cool car guys living close enough to walk to thier houses.  i guess all is not lost for the world when you find cool stuff like this under your nose.

We just moved to a new neighbourhood last September and my next door neighbour has a nicer than new 2003 Mach 1 Mustang, the fella across the street has a '70 'Cuda and the guy beside him has a special order Porsche that he order 16 months ago and should be here in a few months.  All very nice guys that enjoy shootin' the breeze about cars while the children play together.

I was gonna go to the Ford show today but had too many things to do around the house.

I knew about it but just didn't care enough to go.

I got a lot done around the house in the morning and then set up the sprnkler for the kids to run through.  Had a beer with another neighbour, shot the breeze with another one and then after that, lunch, then a nap and then back outside to the sprinkler.

I had an older guy stop by the other day that lives around the corner, just to look at my Charger and talk cars.  He has a 66 GTO he is working on and said he has seen my car many times but I was never outside when he went by until that day.  He was telling me about the cars he had back in the 60s and everything...  Those old stories are always fun to hear.
