How to change steering gear in 72 charger?

I was wondering, how difficult is it to change the steering gear in a 72 Charger? It has a 440 with headers(hedman I believe). Is it something that you can do in your driveway with jack stands, or should I just take it to a reliable shop. I would prefer to do it myself.

Thanks,
Ron

cliffs:

pull the column

remove fluid hoses

remove pitman arm on both ends (like, take it out of the car)

unbolt four box-to-K frame bolts

possibly remove driver side header depending on clearance (now is a good time to not have a big block)

installation is the reverse

Thanks for the answer. It doesn't sound all that difficult. Is it? It is a big block so I think I will have to remove header from that side. Is there much involved with removing the column? I've never done that. Will it be possible to do the job in my driveway or do you think I should have access to a lift?

Thanks,
Ron
