Is this the correct wiper motor? (PICS)

My 69 Charger originally came with a 3 speed wiper (which is completely destroyed). I had this 2 speed wiper motor sitting around for a few years, I thought this would work, but it looks like it won't. Any anyone tell me if this is the correct 2 speed wiper for my 69? Thanks for all your input.

Yep, nice shape!  I don't know about wiring differences, but that's the same 2 speed in my car which came with a 2 speed.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

need to be sure about parking position, they changed along the years and models... but yes that is a correct 2 speed motor

do you have the wiring for it?  it's different on both the engine compartment side and dash side.  do you have the right switch?

why not get a 3 speed motor from autozone or such?

Chatt69chgr

Those 2 speed motors are pretty cheap at autozone.  I don't think anyone sells 3 speeds.

a three speed motor is a three speed motor.  the only difference is how the park mechanism is clocked.  AZ sells a motor for a '73 for $55.  it's simply a matter of reclocking the mechanism for a B Body.

Nacho-RT74

On 3 speeds yes can be "reclocked", but on 2 speeds internals are diff. Main shaft/gear itself is mainly the same, but cut switch is on dif location and not moveable.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Also, IIRC,  the bellcrank is different & wont interchange....this is usually the hard piece to find when doing a 2 speed to 3 speed swap....

OK so do you have the linkage parts for the 3 or 2 speed motor?

If you have all the wiring, switch, linkage, etc. for a 3 speed, I think you'll find it easier/cheaper/less frustrating in the long run getting a replacement 3 speed then trying to wrestle with a 2 speed conversion.

The 3 speed motor for a 73 has the new style parking switch so it won't look externally exactly like a 69 would have---but as has been stated is available rebuilt.  And the shaft on the back that the bellcrank attaches to is a different sized rectangular slot but if you have a earlier 69 wiper motor, you can interchange the gear and parking switch plate assembly onto the newer motor so that the finished product will appear like a 69 and will then use the 69 bellcrank.  I think the connector is different but you could use a connector off a 69.  Alternatively, you could just make it a 2 speed.  The 3 speed wiper swith is real hard to find.  Two speed wiper switches a lot easier.  The red stuff that seals the switch on the back of the switch plate is GE glyptol.  You can buy it in cans from GE supply.  I have never seen the nice rubber grommets offered repop nor have I seen the rubber firewall gasket.  I don't know how the A1 Cardone rebuilt wiper motor is finished.  May just be painted with glop black paint.  So to have a nice piece, you might have to take it apart and blast the housing and get the metal barrel that covers the motor zinc chromate plated.  Since the two speed wiper motors were just painted black, they would be a lot easier to make look nice.  I'am not sure if you get the resistor with them or if you can buy it.  Mopar may still sell the resistor.  Don't know.  Too bad the wiperman in Canada went out of business.  He did nice work at reasonable prices.  I wonder what happened to him.  Anybody know?

Forgot to say that the clocking arrangement for the park on the 3 speed wiper is detailed in the factory service manual.  It has a nice picture and shows exactly how to do it.  Basically, you loosen the three screws that hold down the parking switch plate, lift the plate up and move to the correct detent position and retighten the three screws.
