Not sure what you're asking but the distrubtor shaft should rotate freely in the housing.

Ok, that makes sense. Yes, the rotor should move some.....that is the advance mechanism at work.

well I have to check how much of the advance mechanism is really, or maybe is an internal play with oil shaft/gear because some worn at shaft end or anywhere. will update.
