Sounds good man, sounds like we are all fairly close, well except Chris..shouldn't be too hard to link up..I drive right by your area almost every night

I met Chris at E-Town awhile

Chris, manhattan or Brooklyn?

And hey i dont mind a trip to SI.

Not only are you close but i REGULARLY hung out not a half a block from that exit almost every night in the summer...right next to the liquor store at a friends garage. Bunch of us would all bring the muscle cars out and hang out or fix our cars. Even did an engine swap on our friends stang right out there under the BQE  :2thumbs:

Well im going to dig this one back up from the grave  :2thumbs:

Thad (teamroth) tried to get some info on her. The guy wanted a crazy sum of money.

I decided today after passing it for what seemed the 1,000,000 time..i sent the guy this email

"A friend of mine (thad) gave me your email addy. He had told me awhile ago that the charger off of mcguiness might be for sale. I immediately knew which car he was talking about. I am 21 and have a 73 charger I'm slowly restoring and have admired your car from the other side of that fence for at least the past 7 years...always knew it was a mopar even with the cover on it, then Id finally get a peak at it from time to time when it would blow off. Its funny but I noticed the polytechnic university sticker on the car...when I started college as it turns out, I attended poly.

Anyways, I was wondering if she was for sale and if you had a figure? Would like to give it a nice dry home and store it until id get the funds to fix her up. If not ill still continue to admire it from the other side of the fence.

Thanks"

Maybe he wont care, maybe he will still want that crazy number, or just maybe he might get a reality check and i might get my hands on a 2nd gen...

We shall see  :2thumbs:

I got a reply back, actually had a good convo.

He got the car when he was 17, second owner...so it holds a lot of sentimental value. He did say he hates to see it sit like that and if he had a garage he would keep it. We exchanged some stories and seems like a really nice guy. It was restored in 89 by a good friend and thus another reason he wants to keep it. But he knows its doing itself no good sitting out there and dosnt seem the type to let it rot to the ground he jus has a hard time letting go.

I informed him if he wanted to sell it that it would go to a nice warm home for a few years before being restored. Id take the numbers matching 318 out and put it on the side and build a mild 440 for it and simply enjoy it.

He seems though to think its worth a bit more than it really is. And is looking to get between 6-9k but id say its work 3k tops. He's looking foward to letting me take a look at the car soon so maybe this might work out for me.

I'm going to try too bring 3k in cash with me when he shows me the car. Well take it from there.

If I get it I need to find someone to store it for me...anyone have an extra spot??

69bronzeT5

$6-9k isn't too bad.....that would be my guess at what it's worth. I'd honestly say $3k is too low for sure. Considering there are project '73-'74s out there for $3k. :Twocents:

3K is awful low, so do be surprised if he throws some attitude at you. If the car runs and isn't full of rot it is worth 5 maybe 6K if mostly solid, just like a couple others have said.
