of this before.

Anybody ever heard of a Cincinnati Reds version Charger called "the big red machine" ?

Thanks for any help!

Being a Cincy native, I have heard of one, but only through word of mouth.  I've never seen one.

I *think* it was a '74 promotional car (could've been '73?).  Other than that...I'm afraid I'm not much help.  The Bengal Chargers seem to be much more notorious. :shruggy:
1968 Charger R/T, 440 auto.

I thought the "Big Red Machine" was the Manchester United?

Quote from Wikipedia:
The Big Red Machine was the nickname given to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team that dominated the National League from 1970 to 1976. Over that span, they won four division titles, three National League pennants and two World Series. Their combined record was 502-300.

Key team members and their positions
    * Johnny Bench, catcher
    * Tony Pérez, first base
    * Joe Morgan, second base
    * Pete Rose, third base
    * Dave Concepción, shortstop
    * George Foster, left field
    * César Gerónimo, center field
    * Ken Griffey, Sr., right field
    * Sparky Anderson, manager

I don't remember hearing about a Charger promotion but it's very likely.

Now that is an all star cast of characters there.  I remember playing dominoes and watching them play with my grandmother.  Dave Consepcion baby!

A maintenance man I used to work with back in the mid 90's drove a "well-patined" red 3g with a funky brownish-plaid cloth and vinyl upholstery treatment and "Big Red Machine"  emblems  on the fenders. The emblem on the passenger side was broken from accident damage. If memory serves, it was a 318/904 with column shift. Can't recall his name for the life of me. I remeber he worked at M.E.I. and that's about it.
