I just wanted to thank the people who post the 'Cars For Sale' ads in the For Sale section. I'm talking about the people who post 'third party' ads, not their cars, but cars from other places such as Craigslist, Ebay, Kijiji etc. I try to go online as much as I can, but you can't see all the ads. I have seen (and missed...) some really good deals on here as well in the For Sale section too. Searching for a particular car is hard enough, but to get an honest deal before the dealers/flippers/body shops is getting so much harder....Thanks guys!

PocketThunder

I think that is very helpful also.  Some people here complain about it though, but those are probalby the people that complain about everything..

Why in the world would anyone complain? True Mopar fans want to see other true Mopar fans get the Mopars they really want...don't get it??

I think the guy who posts those the most is ChargerST.....thanks!!!!!

I hate to say it but I am one of those people that doesn't like it too much.  I don't mind when I am NOT looking for a car but when I am looking it just adds more competition and makes it harder to get a better deal.

moparstuart

I like it ,it's great .   BBS  rene always does it for us in the aero car section
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Drache

Personally I think there should be either a seperate section for those ads, or they should be placed within the ebay section, other than that I like the idea of people posting them for all to see....

Ummm....maybe the deal would BE in one of those ads.  :eyes:

I like it. I frequent the general and wing sections the most. It doesnt both me and shows some good and bad deals. Plus its ways nice to get a second opinion on a car for a potential buyer

I agree, but generally I can find those ads on my own and by them being posted here it gives me more people to compete with when it comes to buying the car.  For example if a charger is posted on craigslist for sale and it is close to me I find it on my own but then I realize it has been posted here and the guy is probably going to get even more calls about it.    Sorry, I am probably just being greedy.

Well hell yes, what's wrong with having something new to look at everyday. That goes for hot blonds too. :slap:

You'd be surprised. I've seen a couple guys whining about it just on this site.

ramit

Just to be clear I am not whining about it, I was just be honest and my guess is that there are other guys here that would feel the same way.  I really don't have a big problem with it.  Let's be honest though, It is alot easier to get a deal on something if you are the only one interested in it and there are not ten other guys from this website that are calling and emailing the guy about his car.

ChargerSG

I like those, i even bought my 69 SE on a post here by a member
If you dont want competition you just have to find those before ChargerST does :D

I do get your point - nothing wrong with it. When I find something that I'm interested in I don't post it here (that would be pretty stupid  ;) ). So if you see a deal you wanna jump on just send me a PM and I won't post it.

On another forum I'm a member of there are two for sale sections: one is just for member cars and the other one is for links (CL, ebay,...). I think that would be a pretty good solution.

It's very hard to find a good deal these days and as I'm not in the market for a charger right now I post all the ads to help a fellow member to find his/her dream car.

Don't wanna hijack this thread but what do you think about the deals I post?

Good deals (I try to avoid posting overpriced junk and 50k+ cars)?
"right" years (I started posting just 68 - 72 chargers as these years seem to be the most popular ones - I do find lots of 66,67 and 73,74 Chargers btw.)?

Anyone got a car from one the ads I posted (I know of one member so far).

Steve

btw. I should change my avatar..thanks to craigslist  :coolgleamA: but more in a week or two..

ramit

Hey...I am glad you get my point and thanks for the offer to not post something if I let you know about it. :2thumbs:

nakita7

ChargerST you're doing fine, as are the other who post. I think your criteria is good. I look all the time. I have not bought one yet, but I did buy one on my Rallyes after a member emailed me about one on Craiglist that I did miss. I know that if that car was snapped by a flipper, it would have been doubled, it was an actual honest deal. Sorry, but I'm sick and tired of people trying to retire early via Mopars. You see a deal, pass it on. I have done it MANY times in my life, and will continue to do it too. (Looking for something particular? email me, I have a huge black book of numbers, but you better not be a flipper).

A seperate section can work, but I simply don't see the point. A car for sale is a car for sale, period. I don't care if it's a member, a car lot, Craigslist etc. Sorry, I would love to see the 'community' put back into this hobby....

68charger383

Its pretty funny, but if you look at the stats on this site, the most popular or viewed section is the cars for sale.

I like seeing the cars that I would normally miss since they are under the radar on a non-ebay site.

Under Profile..."Most Popular Boards By Activity"...I thought it was showing for the entire site, but I guess, especially based on your post, it was just coming up for me.  :D

In that case it should be the most popular......we all should be looking for another one   :2thumbs:

if your trying to find a car, you would have probably found it before the person who posted it.

also, if you are trying to find a deal. you most likely aren't going to find it on craigslist or recycler.   word of mouth is still the best

I seriously doubt you're dealing with more competition if the ads are posted here. There would have to be several dc.com members in your area who are actively looking to buy for that to happen. My guess is it helps way more than it hurts.
