What do you think of the old TM7 manifolds

I have a 528 stroker with ede alum heads and 11.6-1 static compression its going in a 73 with a 3500 stall manual valve body Tf and 3.91 gears I also have 2 extra center section 1 with 4.57 and 1 with 4.88

Im trying to build a street screamer out of a fairly heavy car and will spend a lot of time at the drags and cruises.

My question is how well do you think that old Tm7 performs against the newer manifolds In its day when it was new it was the choise at the drags but do you think it will be a good choise?

the set up Im running is a TM7 thats been port matched with a 2" open spacer and a 1090 king demon on top.

I plan on doing a lot of trial and eror with  it till I get it were I wan't.

That is the old Tarantula which is a high RPM manifold, around 8000 but doesn't have much on the bottom. I still like them on small blocks but on a BB stroker I would guess your gonna need a really loose converter and the tall gears. Can't remember the last time I used one with an automatic. Not much help but there are some really good newer manifolds out there so lets see what others have to say, good luck.

I started out with the TM7 on my 440, it is not a stroker and I have less compression, it had plenty of top end, but was dissapointing on the bottom end.  I put a Performer RPM on there and it ran alot better.

I ran the manifold before on a 11-1 comp .040 over built up 440 in a 3600 68 super bee and found that it made the car hook better over the duel plane that was on it and the top end charge seemed almost endless.

I guess I need to refraise the question.

will this Intake be able to support this engine at the top end my thought is the 528 should make so much TQ that giving up a little down low should be almost not noticeable compaired to a stock 440 and that little drop should help hook this car with drag radials.

hey if this doesn't do it I have a old weinand high rise tunnel ram with a set of 670s on it :2thumbs:

The TM7 is an excellent manifold and will work great on your stroker. It's very comparable to the street dominator, M1 single plane and the Victor. On my 446 we tested several manifolds and the TM7 & SD were neck in neck...the Victor was only slightly better.

With 528 cubes you don't need to worry about bottom end power....trust me !  ;)

Mike (MFR426) just pulled his mild 505 off the dyno and it was making LOTS of low end grunt with the Street Dominator.  :2thumbs:
