Debated whether this was OT or not but under Off Topic says "This section is for Non Auto related topics" and this is of a car sketch.

Anyhoo, I entered a Texaco Car of the Decades online car show last Fall http://www.texacocarofthedecades.com/.  I won my decade "70's" and initially placed 3rd against the other decade winners until they found they added the votes wrong.  Still at 4th I was happy, received a $250 gas card and this quoted being worth $1300 sketch of my car by renowned Dwayne Vance.   http://www.futureelements.net/

I did a lot of politicking while voting was going on.  Could you blame me, grand prize was an all expenses paid week at Daytona this year, getting to meet the King and Juan Pablo Montoya.

I was overwhelmed by the size of this thing, pretty cool.

It's beautiful, much better than a week in FL.   :yesnod:

I've seen all kinds of automotive art, and most of it is very cheesy, I'd say that is one of the nicest pieces I've seen - it's got class!

terrible one

I agree fully! Not into the cartoon stuff, etc. That is a beautiful piece!  :2thumbs:

That is cool Mike, any trouble finding that perfect place to hang it?

My wife really likes it.  Which surprised the heck out of me.  I figured it was destined for the garage but she wants to take down a bunch of family pictures in the hallway and put it there.  :o  I have a big poster of AllBlue in our bedroom that 6pkrunner made up but the wiff said to leave it.
Ahh what the heck, she's a keeper.  ;)

Pete, I'm gonna contact Mr. Vance about just that.  Great idea.

Brian, after looking at some of his previous work I was apprehensive about what it would look like.

For $1300 you think the guy could paint inside the lines   :shruggy:
1969 Charger 500 #232008
1972 Charger, Grand Sport #41
1973 Charger "T/A"

i was thinking that too...  :smilielol:  it's nice though...

Actually it retails for over 15.  If you look at the center of it where normally the eye fixates you'll see he was very clean and precise, inside the lines have you.  But I'm not about to pretend to be someone I'm not, an artist.
Do you have some of your own work I could compare it to RallyeMike?   :shruggy:

Of course I'm biased, but I like it the way it is.  Not some piece that looks like every other "inside the lines" work that's out there.

That must have been before he completely lost all motor skills?

I'm mostly just being a smart ass. For free, I'd hang it on my wall too.  Actually, I have free expensive art hanging in my bathroom.  In absence of a title, I call it "Teddy Bear in A Pool of Blood"  (Thats what it looks like  :shruggy:). It's not even half as cool as yours.... So congrats.

As far as my artwork, well, here's a painting of your old lady I did just the other day...   :nana:
