Gtxreme, very interesting to hear that. My understanding was once crashed, it went to Patiks barn in Iowa. Then onto Tom in NY. The card was for a lawyer in PA I'll dig up the details and post them this evening.. When/where was it sitting a couple of towns over from you? Cheers, Tim.

Great to follow your progress Tim, and looking forward to future installments.

That sunfire yellow 49 would've been quite the car in it's day, ( heard of a VJ49 that just crossed the ditch back for huge dough just the import fee was 90k !!!)  I had a silver 71 VH R/T 6pk and 4 speed which would do 14.1's and would go like a cut cat on the road. A mate of mine took me for a run in his Hemi Orange 49 when I was 22 and got a chirp out of it in 3rd even, I was hooked on Vals after that.   :2thumbs:

Nice timeline  .Just wonder did Earnie see a ad in a Hatfield newspaper or wingcar newsletter hemmings police/insurance auction? For the original purchase. And the fact there was a accident a telephone taken down there be somewhat of a trail to pick up on.But still looking and asking. That 69-79 10 year gap just makes me think it should have been scrapped/totalled out un fixable back in those years ..But maybe car was tied up in some kind of legal legitation insurance company :Twocents:.Just curious what milege is showing on the speedometer since car was flipped and undriven

Maybe MCG will do you cars story. The flipped upside down daytona that went down under ;D

While going over this cars story again and again for detail this 2007 description of how the car was damaged makes sense .The telephone pole head on intent and launch in my thought would have taken radiator support up to the firewall

Heres the reply I recieved on that car from Dave at PCG

Car # 381541 was being driven in a rainstorm, when driver lost control.  Car went into ditch, and car landed on roof.  Car was wrecked, but is definitely fixable.  Roof was pushed in on front left.  Rear glass ok.  Frame rails seemed ok, but weren't measured.  Car had no evidence of ever being in a flood.  If you are looking at the well known picture of an upside down Daytona with other cars from a flood, that was in the midwest.  381541 came from Northeast.
