I find the internet just amazing and Im happy to see it become what it is today mainly for one great fact (porn isnt it :icon_smile_big:)

Frankly I believe its communities like this one! Let me explain:

Before if I needed help doing something with my Aspen where could I turn? Buy a manual and do it that way pretty much and some manuals are useless. Turn to my dad? Well he has limited knowledge and thus can't help with everything. Not one single person has 100% of all the knowledge and a community like this brings all the people together so now you can have access to 100% of the knowledge, and experience is the best knowledge.

Another reason is the friends you make even though you might never meet them. I know allot of you have met each other but I have yet to meet a single other member of these forums. On communities just like this one it gives the option to meet people from all around the world with the same interests! Every person Ive interacted with on these forums Im thankful for (yes even you Ponch  :icon_smile_big:)!

I guess this comes with the post about Joe Ward. Even though Ive never met the guy I truly felt saddened and had tears in my eyes when I seen the picture of him with his car and read about his ailment. It saddened me greatly to know that this guy might not see his Superbird's restoration finished.

Shortly after it dawned on me that without the internet, allot of things like things like this wouldn't be possible. So the day before my 25th birthday I wish to thank everyone on this community just for being there and I hope you all stay safe.

I kind of miss some of the aspects of the old days. When I wanted to learn about something, I would go find the people actually involved. It was often a long hunt finding people, but I always did find them and would learn what I wanted to know first hand. Today with forums and wiki type sites, it is too easy to find people and information.

One great example of all this was I wanted to know how Fender installed the frets on their guitars back in the 50's. It took a year, but I managed to track down two of the guys that did it and had them explain to me the whole process. Todays technology I could have found them in a couple days. The old way was long, but more adventurous.
