Would it be possible for me to use a aftermarket rad(non-stock looking) that is the same size as one made for a chrysler but specified for a chevy?  it would save me like 400 bucks

Wakko

Absolutely...check the Tech forums, I believe there's a thread already about it.

HAHA... well if its aftermarket then,,, well paint a pentastar on it and you will be fine...

Better yet paint a charger symbol on it.

I say if you are going to drive it at all Go for it.   Are we speaking aluminum?

However, I am sure I will piss off a purist..

ChargerRT440

well I was looking in my summit catalog at griffin(sp?) rads that where 19 inch high by 31 inches wide and the price difference between chrysler and chevy was outrageous for a rad that didn't even lookd stock it was like 400 for the chrysler and 200 for the chevy and for me thats a difference of like 400 dollars in CDN dollars

Blown70

well make sure you are looking correctly....

I would guess that there is not a huge difference....  I would make sure which side the lower is on.

Also, auto or 4-spd?  That may make a difference...

I am sure its more 'cause its for a MOPAR,  LOL

ChargerRT440

well it's just gonna be for an auto and there'll be a separate tranny cooler on the car so no need for one in the rad

Man, you must be loaded. going with a griffon radiator. I've had real good luck with Northern or the summit brand aluminum radiators. they both are pretty much the same thing. under 200 bucks. they're universal. measure the size, and build some brackets to hold them in there.

Here my set up off E-bay. Radatior it self cost me $170, bracket bought localy for $30 and $25 to have welded on. I love it, keeps me down to 160 all day long.

Wakko, there is no shroud, don't need one. Besides with the blower dive there is no room for one.
