Have you guys decided what to do with your stimulus checks? Of course not everyone will get $600, depends how much you make annually. $600 probably wil go towards mortgage/bills/home improvement for me. Every penny helps but price of gas, food and pretty much everything else rose so much that average person won't see much difference with $600

I got mine last friday.  $1800.00  I'm putting $500 into my IRA, and the rest is going toward the trip I just took across country to Mass for my sister's graduation.  I just wish the government would give back all the money it stole from me.   :RantExplode:

We are doing some remodeling/rebuilding on our house.  I had started checking prices on materials and labor about 4-5 months ago. After coming back from Vegas last month we decided it was time to get it done. Well, the framer I had lined up never showed and I ended up removing all of our old Florida room. (That's a three season room to the rest of the World). Then building the new bedroom myself. The quote I had gotten for the roof went up by more than 1 grand. The windows are up. HELL,,,, everything has gone way up. Many parts of the country don't see the instant jump as we do in Florida as any goods trucked into the sand pile has an additional cost.

At any rate, what ever we do get will not even put a dent into the additional costs we are paying. It's better than nothing. I can say that most of the materials I am using are from the USA and Canada.  :2thumbs: At least I can make myself believe I am doing my part in our job market.

Sort of on subject if you don't mind the injection, I think taking the kids to Disney is great. Better if you live close enough to drive on the cheap. From what I know, Disney is very good about being American for America. They employ thousands and thousands of people. Make much of their own stuff.  Also keeps the tourist thing going in hotels and restaurants and much more. Topping it all off with the fact that you did something great with your family, not just sitting at home about what is next.  Everyone needs to unwind and Disney is all about fun.  I'm all for it. :2thumbs:
