I just received a new Holley Street Dominator Inlet Manifold 300-14.  I noticed that in the center of the inlet, below where the carburator sits, is a round depression.
It is about 3/8 inch in diameter and about 3/8 deep.  Is this a defect??  Should it be sent back?  Should it be repaired?

John, all of the SD intake manifolds have that hole. It goes to the EGR port on the back of the manifold. Just plug those 2 holes with small freeze plugs and you're good to go.  ;)

Thanks Ron:
On the back of the manifold, there is a horizontal pad (EGR Mounting pad??)  There are 2 small threaded attachment holes and 2 larger threaded holes.  In the Box was provided threaded pluds to screw in and block off these larger holes.  IF I INTERPRET IT CORRECTLY.  Do you put RTV on the threads of the plugs?

That must be something new. On my SD intake the larger holes were not threaded so i had to install the freeze plugs. I guess Holley figures that nobody will be installing an EGR valve on a performance build so they've tapped the holes and included plugs....Nice  :2thumbs:

Sure, a little RTV on the threads won't hurt.  ;)
