I don't mind little kids playing and making noise but I do get pissed off if they start tearing stuff up. Usually it's the older kids who start screwing around with graffiti or vandalism and that pretty much angers everybody who has to see it and clean it up. I worry more about the potential for negative influence by other kids on my kids than I do the noises they make. Now that I'm on graveyard shift again for the summer I'm sure the noise will start bugging me more but I chose it so I have no one else to blame. I'm sure I annoyed people when I was a kid and I'm my kids annoy people now but as long as there is more than one person on this planet people will be annoyed by other people. That's just life.

Sorry to hear such news Silver, meaning, sounds like you had a boring childhood.
I guess so, now Im making up for it with owning a Charger. Some kids will never experience driving a Charger or any other muscle car for that matter.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

In my experience those who bitch about kids being kids, (yelling and screaming and playing, not destroying personal property)  Either don't have any, or theirs have already left the nest, and they don't realize who will be providing their Social Security checks in the next few years.  I moved from a crappy city to a nice little town, and live at the end of a cul-de-sac just so my kids would be able to play safely in the street with the other kids on the block, and have a life outside of computers, video games and television.  If you feel that you've made a poor personal decision on where you should live then suck it up and move to a location better suited to your needs.

Big Lebowski

Ya, it's too bad that I can't call in an airstrike on the guy who lets his dog crap in my yard. :fu:
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

Silver, you stepped on a sore subject with people nowadays.  I'm not agreeing or disagreeing w/you or anyone else that has responded. When it comes to kids, no parent or relative of said kid(s) will find fault with them in public at least. Before anyone says "he doesn't have kids", yep I do, 4 of 'em, 3 girls and a boy. All of 'em have faults, esp. the way one of the girls is raising hers. Kids only do what they are taught or what they see other people doing and getting away with. Don't fault the kids,it's the parents. Anyone whos says otherwise is full of it. As for you moving, why should you? Those that think you should move apparently were taught that they were above everyone else, much like a lot of baby boomers. It comes down to respect and consideration, and that is virtually doesn't exist anymore.  Talk nicely to the parents of the kids and see if they can find their kids somewhere else to play. You can bet most won't otherwise why aren't the kids in front of the their house or in their yards. Most likely you'll be told and/or forced to move because they are many and you are but one. Ah well, good luck fella.

my neighbors are pretty cool. haven't had a complaint about me grinding and sanding at midnight (i work till the wee hours)

the only thing is they all slow down and stare at me while i work on the car, the lawn, or anything outside.

Thank god my neighborhood doesn't have anybody out whining about kids playing and yelling outside. The alley behind our house has about 10 houses on either side, and nearly all of them have kids, so the alley is their domain.  They'll all get together and play, and sure they're loud, and we all love it.  1-2 parents can be out in the alley to be sure nothing goes wrong and the rest can enjoy the break while our kids have a better childhood than we had.  Personally, there were 3-4 kids within bike distance from me, none within walking - so to play with another kid after I got home involved actually making arrangements with parents and all, and was limited to whichever of the local kids I was getting along with.

I LOVE my neighbors.  I guess it's all about how reasonable your expectations are, huh...

This is why I live in the country on 4.5 acres..... :2thumbs:  I do not have kids of my own not do I want KIDS.  I am sorry but I cannot stand the NOISE, etc.  My neighbor has kids but rarely do I hear them and they are good kids and live 1/4 down the road anyway.

Goodz

The idiots across the parking lot frmo me in my community have their friends over with their motorcycles.  Last night at 1:30 AM, one of the morons leaves his buddies house and pins the throttle on his bike while leaving the complex.  I wanted to kill him, especially since I had to be up at 6AM for work AND I'm kinda sick right now with a stomach bug.

I agree and Im the same I dont think silver was being too unreasonable however, kids will always be kids and where there's kids, there's noise. For some reason kids seem to like me my neighbours son loves the charger Id be happy to take him for a drive if his parents said it was ok.
I live in a small cul de sac and there's a few V8 guys in my street which is a good thing i guess  :2thumbs:
