I think that most people have to deal with some not so good neighbors. My neighbors are cool, most of them that I know. It's just their kids are so damn noisy. After work I like to go out in front yard and just work on yard or tidy up things. These kids from the cul-de-sac seem to concentrate by my yard  They yell out stupid things, run and fall and bust their knees in the middle of the roadway and then scream some more, leave their skates, balls, etc laying around sidewalks/yards. All I want is some peace and quiet after work but can't really get any. I think I should go start Cobra and scare the shit out of next lil punks that come near my yard.

Sometimes you have to just learn to live with them.

I've learned to do that except for my neighbours to the left. They always drive by our house really slowly and stare like they think its their street.

  The only stress I get from my neighbour is that he's retired and gets to work on his cars all day. I might get a few hours in on weekends and he's doing full restos in a matter of months.

I had my share of nosy, or loud and obnoxious neighbours. But where I live now, I actually get along with all of them. The guy that lives below me is a retired Korean war vet. And he is really cool.

I only have one neighbor that can be annoying on occasion... actually I believe it's an entire tribe of television bred, mentally deficient sheeple. Not only are they under the impression that RAP is a musical art form, but they also seem to believe that everyone else in the neighborhood suffers from this same delusion. They use to be really bad, but mean old Mike hopped the fence one day for a chat... haven't heard much from them since.

kids will make noise. period.  There's not much you can do about it, but why would you even want to?  I'd rather see them out in the street jumping the skate boards across rails (today's version of us jumping our bikes over wooden ramps we made) than inside getting fat, lazy and stupid playing video games.  iv'e got kids in my neighborhood like that and I kinda like it.  within limits.  If it's after dark, or they are screaming out curses, i draw a real firm line.  In that case, I just walk up to them and politely ask them to stop. never had one give an attitude because I treat them with the respect that I never got from adults when I was that age.  and if that fails, I can always kick the crap of the offending kid's father. that's usually an attention getter.  lol

I agree, its still a good sign seeing kids playing outside doing active things instead of vegetating on the couch watching the tube and lighting farts on fire. I wish I had some cooler neighbors to hang out with instead of a bunch of duds. Even on the holiday weekends theres never anyone outside after 8pm just having a few cold ones listening to some tunes by a fire. Not that im home much anyways but sometimes it would be cool to hang out with people other than the ones you work with.

I have great neighbors. There are many Chargers and other old Mopars, as well as some old GM stuff on my street. Everyone pitches in too. There is a furnace tech, electrical contractor, AC tech, carpenter, and plumber that all work on our houses for free or a few beers.

But it was OK when you were a kid, sreaming and yelling and skipping around like a fairy, flapping your arms like they were wings and singing "ring around the rosey" as all the neighbours watched in horror, wondering what type of person you would grow up to be.

We're very fortunate as we recently moved to a new street, a court or cul-de-sac that has only 18 houses and around 31 children all under the age of 12. 

Now that the warmer weather has arrived, they are out in droves and when the beautiful, and I mean beautiful Mothers are out congregating in the centre garden to chat while the kids play, there is certainly no complaining from anyone, at least from the Husbands perspective.

If loud kids are the worst things on your street, be thankful. I might add that whatever you do, don't turn into one of those old bastards that stands on his front lawn pointing & yelling at the kids to stay away. They will go from loud, screaming, kids having fun, to obnoxious teens that will have no problem pulling pranks on the old bastard bitching & moaning. My friends & I would ride bikes or sometimes play in the street too. One older woman a few houses away absolutely HATED anyone that came near her house.

If you happened to stop somewhere in the vicinity of her place, she'd come outside & stare at you like a mental patient. (which was likely her issue) If you made eye contact she'd think of something to say, or yell to get you to leave. Of course after we got bored with whatever we were doing we'd purposely stop in front of her house to agitate her. We would wait & see how long it took to get her to come outside & yell, then leave. The night before Halloween when all the mischief took place, guess who's house got toilet paper & such....LOL

So go ahead Silver, bitch & moan to the noisy kids & you'll regret it.

The kids in the neighbourhood are the eyes and ears of the street.  They're the ones that see everything that's going/gone on and can be very helpful when you need to know who did what.

Kids will be kids. I wouldn't do a damned thing. I am the the one that creates the noise in my neighborhood. I have had my share of crybaby's so I just ignore anyone else. When I have new neighbors move in I tell them to be prepaired for the noise I make because I work on my cars. Either they like it or they end up moving. I just had new ones again next to me and told them to feel free to make all the noise you want because I do. Some past neighbors complained and they couldn't do crap about it. As soon as they complain I just make more noise. I had a guy next door come over and said my car was loud and his nick knacks were falling off his shelves. I about gave him some caulking like in the commercial

i live across the street from two schools, one's a high school and the other keeps the younger kids till 6:00 p.m. when they're parents can pick them up,.. so yeah lots and lots of noise here.. the kids hang out all over the area, skippin school and having little smokeouts in front of folks homes, where they hide from the authorities,.. we used to do the same thing when i was in school so as long as they clean up after themselves i don't mind too much,... the kids in the schoolyard sure make allot of noise, and they swear in ways that would make sailors blush... bunch'a little potty mouths for sure... the new double pane windows i had put in help out with noise suppression quite abit maybe 20%...
  cause there's the rap music at 11 on the Richter scale, the ricers with their annoying tinny exhausts blasting trance and the ghetto fab mobiles with their glass packs... and the Rap....    it can all be alittle annoying, when schools out for summer, things quiet down about 80%...
I'm older now but when i was in my 20s my garage band used to practice in the garage up the street at the bassists and here in my garage,.. and My cars and the R/V are surprisingly loud... of course it don't bother me but i can just imagine the neighbors must love me... 
And I'm not too shy about practicing my guitar either...

Our neighborhood is pretty nice except the folks to our left. He's a postal worker that has some serious issues and she's a royal biatch. He literally went "postal" on my mom one time for getting some grass on his driveway. He marched all the way to the end of our culdesac where we were chatting with some other neighbors and just started screaming, and pointing, and about ready to fight. No one mowed the grass, and no one put grass on his driveway. I dunno what his deal is but he if can't even deal with some grass clippings on his driveway, he's going to shit his pants and have a heart attack when the leaves start falling! He's got a staring problem as well; it's kinda creepy.

I have great neighbors..that's one of the reasons I stay here. They even put up with occasional high RPM blasts from the hemi and the HP 383.

As far as kids.. I have four...I don't have to go outside to be irritated by kids...BTW I like kids. I enjoy the few neighborhood kids we have.

I suggest moving out in the country... cause caldesacs are going to be filled with kids.

No I was not loud kid, I would stay in reading books or playing in backyard instead of busy driveways and most of the time my parents were there to supervise me. I was not left alone for extended periods of time.
