Found this 74 for sale. Seems like a decent deal.

I have a 1974 Dodge Charger for sale asking 2500 OBO. The car has a rebuilt 440 magnum with an edelbrock carb, the car starts up and will run but it does not have mufflers. The car needs body work, it has been siting on cement under a car port for the past four years so it hasn't gotten wet in four years. Can't beat that price for a 74 charger with a newly rebuilt 440, if interested give me a call at 2146066491 to make an appointment to see it. And please if you make an appointment please show up and don't waste peoples time, serious buyers only and cash only I do have title and absolutely no low ballers!! I will also trade for a short bed truck 90 and up of equal value.

It depends on the condition of the body and if it is a coupe, hardtop or SE.  He doesn't say whether the 440 was rebuilt yesterday or 20 years ago, he just says "newly".  That could mean it was only driven a couple thousand miles since it was rebuilt 15 years ago.  Who knows.  It might be worth going to look at if you're really in the market for a late 3rd gen.  But, I'd say with the economy right now, you could find a better deal, just keep your eyes open.

Of course it does say OBO, so you may be able to haggle the guy down.  The asking price for my car was 2500 when I found it, but it was bought for MUCH less.
