How do you replace a wheel well?

The rear wheel wells are completely destroyed.  I have seen replacements available for decent money, but wanted to know how to go about removing them and how do I put the new ones in?  Are they bolts?  Do I need to plasma cut them out and weld new ones in?  Any info given is appreicated, as always.

The rear ones are welded in.  Need to cut spot welds (many) to remove.  Most folks replace them when the quarters are replaced.  I suppose you could do it with the quarters on but it might be extremely difficult.

Are your inner or outer ones toast?

If your quarters are not completely toast - you may be able to use new ones for patches.

Good question.  Not sure.  I believe that the outers are toast and the inners arent even there because I only see one layer and I can see right through it!  As far as using new ones as patches, I will take some pics tonight and post them here.  Let me know If I can salvage it.

Not sure how it is on a 3rd gen, but i assume it is like the 2nd gen. That means cut and grind them out, and spotweld them back in.
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

It would be alot easier to replace if the quarter panel is out of the way. Heres what you'll be looking at. I just pulled this quarter off this evening.

Nobody makes any aftermaket wheelhousings for 3rd gens. You'll just have to find a cheap parts car with good ones.
Here's a pic of what you'll have to do to fix it . Wish I had taken more before and after pics of this job.
