:icon_smile_approve: You guys are really great to let me hang out here.  I did grow up in the 70's it was the first gas crunch that took away all hope of a 1972 era Charger so today I have one and in thirty years I will be as nice to the new guy as you have been to me.

As you probably have seen, this site is more geared towards the older Chargers.  There are a few members here that will bust your balls every chance they get as they are pissed right off about the styling of the new Charger.  They will post stupid childish comments aimed at you for buying one, most likely to get an "atta boy" from the other '06 haters.  Hang out if you like, unfortunately, there will not be much information regarding the new Chargers as the potential members are usually chased away.

Myself, I happen to like the '06 Charger however I like my '69 better.  I hang out here as there are a lot of friendly and knowledgable people that are willing to share their thoughts on restoring and preserving the classic Dodge Charger.  Stick around to talk about the 3rd generation you mentioned, you will learn a lot hanging out here and will possibly find one to buy and restore.  At the same time you can teach us about the qualities of the '06 you have just purchased.

Welcome aboard, enjoy yourself here.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Did I miss something?

Oh, and welcome to the site, 06, even if your screenname is something of a misnomer...            (j/k)     (well, sorta)

Welcome to the Charger family. You may get some friction from a few, but don't let it get to you. Though many have a problem with the name, many agree it is a decent modern car. If you can, share with us your thoughts of the car so far and who knows, maybe it is a gateway for you to get into the old ones as a hobby someday.

Welcome to the board.

I finally seen a new Charger Daytona today for the first time.  It's not a bad lookin' rig versus the other models out there.  I don't know if I agree with DCX pimpin' out all the classic names tho.  Today at the dealer there were 2 parties checkin' them out.  It was amazing that none of the other rigs on the lot were being looked at. ???

I hang out at a Harley board but dont' care for the new bikes.  I like my Shovels, but I don't compare my old bike to any of the other Yuppie rides.
Kind of like you 06Daytona, you're welcome here by most.  Just don't start comparing your new ride to our Chargers, you're sure to stir a hornet's nest if you do.

There's lots of great people here.  Kick your feet up, turn on some music, learn again about the Charger you yearned to own. :icon_smile_wink:

:iagree: Still, I have to wonder why someone is willing to spend $30+k on a new car rather than $20+k on one he really wants. Especially when you compare the value of the two ten years from now. Yea, yea, apples and oranges.

If they would have called the '06 "Charger" a Coronet there would never have been a problem.

Welcome....anytime you want to talk about REAL Chargers...no problema. Keep in mind, this IS NOT the '06 Creeder board...that board exists at a completely different URL.

It is a bout time we act like grown ups. ;)

06DaytonaR/T, glad to have you aboard as well.

If the other guys heads don't blow up, I would like some details of your Charger. I would say post some PIC, but I think there be some strokes her on the site. ;)

Are you going to make a trip to the track? Would like to see some real times of what they can do.

With luck, maybe we can get you hooked on the older Chargers. Won't get the MPG, handle or ride as well. But they sure will turn some heads and when tuned right. Lets say but a big old smile on your faces.

Welcome.  I may be next to get the new Charger.  It's not the same as the first generation cars but when I test drove the R/T Daytona I could feel the Charger heritage and thought it would be a worthy new ride.  Tough choice is GoMango now or wait for yellow?

Welcome to the charger board!!  Hope you enjoy!!   Post some pics if ya feel like it and don't let anyone get to ya!

welcome.  though the two cars are worlds apart (in many regards) there will still be alot of help as far as technical (i.e. drivetrain) questions that you may ask.  Though yours has a crapload of sensors, unlike ours, most of the guys just do not work on their charger only, they work on many cars.  We will help out as much as possible.  And believe you me, this will be the best place to find out how to get more horsepower out of your car.  You may have a computer, but horsepower theory is something that a couple of our members are experts at, and well no one can top that.

Welcome,

There are still afew of us that dont completely dislike the "new charger", Just wondering for all the "new charger" haters, would your opinion change if they had a two door version? What would you change on the new one to make it "earn" that Charger emblem?

Actually I kinda like this idea - think I'll start a new post!
