what do you guys think of this one  , sounded good to me and reasonable @  $1000.00 and gets me back on the road quicker ?

this is the guys add who i want to buy the short block from ?
I have a 440 short block for sale that I was going to put in a 66 Dart, but the project is dead.

The motor is a 73 440 that has been bored 40 over. I had Keith Black Silvolite pistons installed in it, new bearings and internally balanced.

All work was done by Garrison Performance .

Motor was originally externally balanced. I had him change it over to an internally balanced motor so that a standard harmonic balancer could be used.
Motor has a MP purple shaft, 292 Cam in it.

Motor is still wrapped in the plastic that came from the machine shop. I might be able to find a copy of the receipts or get a copy from Allen at Garrison Performance. I have other parts that could go with the motor. The distributor is run of the mill, the coil is a hot accell coil with programable red lines in it. I looked it up one time and that coil setup was around 200 bucks.

I have a Edelbrock high rise single plane intake for it.

I'd let it all go for a good offer. Remember, short block...... I have a good set of heads for sale, but that's a different thread.

That seems like a reasonable price for a rebuilt shortblock with new pistons, rings bearings etc...

What about the oil pump and pan/pickup ? What is the piston to deck clearance ? Has the crank been swapped to a forged steel piece ?

The 292 cam will not be street friendly in your application....you will want to ditch that in a hurry  :P

Are your heads salvageable ?

Lots of questions to answer and assuming it was machined properly and assembled with care it would definately be worth looking into.
