Does anyone have experience with this brand?
Is it reliable and crank a 512 stroker well?
Are other brands better?
I hope the link works.  I searched on ebay for mini starters.

I can't comment on how it works for a 512, but I wouldn't hesitate trying. I bought one of these from these guys for my 318 and it works great. It was here really fast too, like within a couple days. When I put my 440 in, I will no doubt transfer this starter into it.

Wow!  That thing is tiny!  Can't beat the price either.  You'll have to let me know how it does on the 512.  I'd might get one for my 452

It is very small and light too. When it arrived I was shocked by the small size of the box. Then I was shocked again when I opened it to find the starter was actually inside a smaller box packed inside. You get a ton more clearance after putting one of these on.

I would also like to know if it spins a 440 reliably. Sounds like a good deal if it is durable.

My three big problems with starters:

clearance for headers
more importantly.... heat from headers, will it still start when its hotter than hell on a 100 degree day and you just shut it down and its around 600 degree's
and torque load requirements.... will it crank a high compression engine
