Take a 440, punch it out .060 over, and how many cubes does it have now?  (Assuming everything else being equal)   :shruggy:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Is there a formula for that?  And what does that translate to in liters?

cubic inches.......... bore X bore X .7854 X stroke X number of cylinders
cubic centimeters........ cubic inches X 16.387         (1000 c.c=  1 liter) :nixon: :nixon: :nixon: :nixon: :nixon: :RedXShoot:

Dave22443

452.0228 x 16.387 = 7407.2976236 / 1000 = 7.4072976236

I.e. 7.4L

Nice  :2thumbs:   Maybe I'll get an emblem made   :D

Why did we switch to liters?  We still buy gas in gallons and drive in MPH.  I think it's a French conspiracy.

Dave22443

Liters come from the ricer-import crowd.  Its all they understand.  If you tell them that you've got 452 cubic inches they look at you with that deer in the headlight look.  Then they try to counter by saying, "Well, thats nuthin.  I've got 1.7 Liters!"  Or maybe some of the bigger V-6 crowds might claim 3 or 4 liters.  But then you look back at them knowingly and nod.  "Yeah.  But I've got 7.4"   :smilielol:

That usually shuts them up.  But even then you've got some that will argue crazy power while still being good on gas.  These are "Girly Men" and they should be avoided.  They do not understand true power and never will.

Like someone on this board once said, "If you kneck don't hurt, then its not a muscle car!"
