Received a phone call today

There I was sitting on the couch watching J.A.G. when the phone rang. Seems it was from the Canadian Armed Forces wanting me to "re-enlist" or "refill" out my application. About 6 months ago I received a letter stating that I had missed to report for training. Due to an error on their part, I was not called nor sent any notification of this. I had to jump through hoops to explain and prove this and I figured that was the end of it and I'd maybe re-enlist some other time. Well the call came today saying I need to redo two of my forms and fax them in ASAP.

Now even though my epilepsy is under control I can't see them accepting me, why they did in the first place is beyond me. But I was told that they want me as a "Weapons Tech". I am happy yet nervous that I got the call and figured I'd let a few know since there are a couple members in the Armed Forces here and in the U.S.

If they do accept me again I will due my duty above and beyond by any means necessary!

Your epilepsy has me a little confused as well.  My last Command job I had to put a guy out because of just that condition.

Good luck though, if they let you in and then decide to put you out, they will be paying you if it works the same as the US Veteran's Administration.

Canadian Armed Forces guys/gals kick butt by the way.  Best hosting/people I ever had the pleasure to meet outside the CONUS.

I knew someone in the Army (US) who had them but was fine with meds.  I dont know that they would let someone in who already had that problem but they didnt kick him out for it because he was able to control it with the medication.

My epilepsy is only Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, the most common form and I DO NOT have Gran Mal seizures. I've been on meds for the past couple years and it controls my seizures to the point that I MIGHT get one once every 6 months and if I do, it's nothing more than my right side shaking for about a minute.

Sounds like the Canadian armed forces is just as screwy at the US armed forces.

I signed up for Infantry or Weapons Technician.

On another note I received ANOTHER call from them, seems I forgot to put a copy of my birth certificate in with my recent papers! STUPID STUPID STUPID! I'm Xpressposting it to them tomorrow morning. As Master Corporal said, "Kyle I'd like your birth certificate in as soon as possible"
