VACAVILLE, Calif. -- A Vacaville man found a pit bull stuck in the engine of his truck and chewing through wires Tuesday morning, his family said.

Walter Witthoeft had just woken up and went outside to put power steering fluid in his truck. When he popped the hood, he saw a pair of eyes, heard growling and then noticed a dog wiggling around in his engine.

The dog worked his way up and under the truck the night before and got stuck.
Witthoeft's family called police and reported the incident.

Witthoeft said he had just paid $1,000 to fix his truck last week, but the truck is now having to be towed back to the shop for repairs due to damage caused by the pit bull.

The dog eventually was able to wiggle out and animal service brought it to a county shelter.

They showed the damage to the wires where the dog chewed 'em up on the TV news story and that trucks got some serious issues now..  :eek2:

My spouses sister had a pet snake in college and the snake made it way into the engine bay of her neon and when she started it up......

my friend when he was a kid had his kitten crawl up into the engine bay of a family friend's pickup. The family friends left on a two hour drive back home and when they go there guess what crawled out from under the truck? The called up my friend and let him know where his kitten was and that they'd be bringing it back next weekend.

I was at a friend's house once back in high school and we fired up his pickup to go somewhere and heard this odd banging sound so he shut it off. He opened the hood and there's one of his cats sitting in front of the air cleaner half dead and missing one ear after the fan beat him senseless. We picked him up by the tail and set him on the ground and after about 30-minutes of "reflection" he finally came to. Every since then his eyes were as wide as quarters 24/7, scared of everything.
