I run the mp3-player to a amp/booster (mount under passenger seat) but have som problem with top volume - I wish it was higher. Must be the the out put signal from the mp3-player... It's a very crappy player but it works.

The speakers is of 6x9 type.

Any proposal?

Id need more info on your sound system.. But major problem is that if you hook up a small Mp3 player to the amp, the sound singnal is wery weak to begin with, so even if you have a bad a$$ amp you wont get good sound. Best thing is to have a CD player to witch you can plug in the Mp3 player, that way the CD player in turn makes the signal stronger into the amp...

you could have diff input level between amp and MP3 player. check if you have an input level selector on amp ( +4dBV or -10 dBm ) if you don't have a selector, would need a pre amp.

I don't have any big plans for my car audiosystem but I do want it to look stock and clean. Thus I have a broken tumbwheel radio in the dash  :2thumbs:

I want the mp-3 because it's small and it easly can be hidden and I can take it with me.

OK, will it be better to run a portable CD-player then, will that thing produce a better out put signal or must I have another car stereo in my car...

The portable CD will probably have a just as low signal out put as a Mp3 player, I don't think there will be any difference.. You could just hide the car CD player in the glowebox...

There is also another option. If you go with the car CD player, you can buy these small radio transmitters to witch you hook up your Mp3 player, then dial in a frequency on the transmitter, dial in the same on the CD player and listen to your Mp3s that way. I bought one of those transmitters, works really great....

I have a killer sound now - Got another amp and what a difference! Even sounds awesome with my mp3-mobilephone plug to the amp

Just need to mount the new amp under passenger seat and wiring the remote cable for turning the amp in on.

Is it a good idea to connect the remote (12V +) to the radio fuse. Will it be power only when the key is in go and start then?

Thanks!

Connect the "Wake Up" 12V+ to the radio fuse, you do have to turn the ignition key to get power, connect the amp main power wire directly to the battery, make shore your Amp has a good ground connection..

you can conect to any switched source you want.

for accurate ammeter reading, I would conect the amp power source from alt side
