Hello.... the leaf springs on my Superbird clone have been on my car for at least 18 years since I've owned it.  The leaf springs have the following numbers on  them: 253 9954 and 253 9794.  I had a friend check his MPC for 1969 and 1970 ... and they were not listed. I am thinking maybe mid 60 's based on the part numbers. They have 5  plus the 1/2 leafs .  Very stout.
Thanks and Godspeed,
JON

Hi Jon,

I cannot find the exact part numbers you've listed in the "E" Series Sales Code breakdown, although the Extra HD springs found on quite a few musclecars in the mid/late 60's have a very similar part number:

2539 795 - Left Side Rear Spring w/ S15 ExHD (Hemi) Suspension Package
2539 965 - Right Side Rear Spring w/ S15 ExHD (Hemi) Suspension Package

One of the documents I found says that the parts book part number and the stamped/casting number should read the same, but I don't want to guarantee that's correct.  What I'm seeing could be some sort of an assembly number rather than the # physically stamped on the spring.  Incidentally, the '70-71 parts book lists a different spring part number - but judging from your description, I think you have a fine set of springs on your car.

THanks ever so much. thining of having them replaced but they ride really nice for now.  Planning on a rear way bar from Frim feel to match the other goodies I have installed. I most likely will replace U bolts at that time and put in new bushings too.

Thanks again and Godspeed,

JON
