Decided to put my 24k mile 68 coronet 440 for sale, put it on e-bay a few weeks ago, although alot of different bidders were bidding,it did'nt hit my reserve. The high bidder contacted me after auction,we sealed the deal,he paid for the car the next day,and it just picked it up  yeseterday.Even though I am happy with what I had got for the car,but it is still kinda depressing to see it going away as I bought it 10 years ago this spring, and have enjoyed it all these years.Back in 02 I was in the market for another mopar and was figuring I would need to sell,so I put it on e-bay.Just after the auction ended ,with my reserve hit,I found that other car over on moparts.com,bought it,but for alot less than I had figured I would have to spend and was now upset that it would be going. The winning bidder never contacted me after numerous tries, the second bidder said he would take the car if it did'nt work out,but I declined and kept it.No hindsight here ,just wanted to keep the car,but 6 years later with this sale now,I got almost double what my reserve was in 02!!! It is going to Ohio to a mopar collector that wants to drive and enjoy. Some pics as it was leaving.....

I know how much you loved that car, you talked about several times.  Now I see why.  That is one beautiful automobile.  Don't worry your new triple black 69 Rt/SE will help you forget it.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Sad to see it go Paul.  Thats definitely how I want mine to go if its ever time to sell......far enough away so I wont "happen to see it" on a cruise... :rotz:

Goodz

Congratz on the sale, even though it is a little bittersweet.  She is going to a good home.   :pity:

Wow, nice car!

The new owner should have crossed those straps in the trailer though. That will keep the rear from dancing left to right.  :Twocents:
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Old Moparz

I watched the auction & loved that car. At least I'm pretty sure it's the same car. The chrome Magnums are what caught my attention with it & something I will do to mine if I end up keeping it. Congrats on the sale though.   :2thumbs:

I was waiting for someone to catch and mention that, because as the driver was tying it down,I did say to him"don't you criss cross your straps",said no,this is how we do it.Figured it's not mine anymore, don't give instructions on how to do because if something happens I don't want to be the cause of it,and besides he is responsible for it now.
On another note, just got an e-mail from the new owner and he says thanks, the car is everything as I described. Then follows with one word"unreal".He says he is leaving it as is and is just going to drive.

Hemidog

I think I saw that trailer on the road this past week!!!

Would they have been travelling the QEW at any time?

If had known what was in it, I'd have Shanghai'd it.  :icon_smile_big:

I guess not then.   :icon_smile_big:

It's the highway that runs from the border at Buffalo, NY and Fort Erie, ON all the way up to Toronto.
