Timer on TV

I have an RCA tv in my bedroom.  I like to set the clock so it turns on in the morning to wake me up.  Why oh why does it shut itself off after half and hour!  I can't find a setting anywhere that makes it do that.

Most timers on TV's are "sleep timers"   

They turn the set OFF after a preset time after you doze off.....

To turn ON the TV you'll need an external timer that you plug into the wall then plug the TV into

If it was the sleep timer shutting it off you should see it flashing "sleep timer" or some time numbers towards the end that it's running out of time and ready to shut down.  Otherwise  .

Yeah there is a sleep timer function.  You press the botton and it counts down in increments of 10minutes starting at 120mins or something. 

The timer I'm talking about is in the menu where you set the date and time, and you can tell it to turn off daily at a certain time, and an on time option to turn it on daily or only once or weekends(I think).
