Cops out to cork thieves' grape expectations

Have you seen anyone trying to sell $1 million worth of wine out of the back of a semi?

"If so, Langley RCMP wants to hear from you.

Somebody, somewhere, has a stolen semi-trailer loaded with 1,388 cases of wine, valued at between $800,000 and $1 million.

The investigation will focus on who knew the contents of that vehicle," RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen said last night.

"You don't simply fluke on to a truckload like that."

The wine heist happened yesterday, sometime between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m., when a truck-and-trailer unit was stolen from the 9800-block 196A Street.

An alert resident phoned police after spotting the truck inexplicably parked on Allard Crescent near 208th Street.

Police raced to the scene, but by then the stolen truck had vanished.

Now RCMP hope that a detailed description and two licence-plate numbers will lead to the missing liquor.

The $80,000 truck is a white 2006 Peterbilt, B.C. licence P85813, with "3D Transport" on its side.

The $40,000 trailer is a white, 53-foot, triple-axle trailer, B.C. licence 70278B.

It has a Thermo-King Unit on the front, "CTI Central Transport Inc. Surrey, B.C." in red on the side, and a vehicle ID number, 53V563."

I'm guessing you did not do very well in geography.   :scratchchin:

Also, do you think it's diplomatic to refer to a group of people using the word you used?  Do you even know what it means?   :rotz:

Meh, maybe it's because the Quebecois seem to be the most vocal/outspoken Canadians?  :shruggy:
And with their choice of language, not to mention their desire to secede and become their own independent non-English speaking nation, many non-French speaking North Americans refer to them ( or in the case all Canadians) as frogs? :eek2:

But Shakey is right, the theft happened in BC (British Columbia for those south of the border, or those who don't toke).
They speak English there, but they still use that silly metric system we all keep hearing about.

An update on the case:

Besides, we're Americans dammit, we don't need no stinking diplomacy. :coolgleamA:

Hell, nowdays we walk loudly while carrying a big stick.  :nana:

On a related note: On May 3rd Texans are encouraged to hang out with frogs... amphibians that is.

Maybe that'll make Texans frogs, at least for one night.  :icon_smile_big:

That is funny..mind you B.C. is well known for kick butt bud... and isn't the whole world pretty much now using the metric system?  :scratchchin:...The U.S is finally implementing seat belt laws and look out for daytime running lights on your car soon...these features have been proven to save lives...and who's behind the times?  :D
Proud to be Canadian...but not a FROG....by the way I can speak two languages as taught in school..hmmm..although California has had extensive smog rules for decades

wow, didn't think my comment would be taken to heart....it was a joke, I'm sure the word "Yank" has been said here many times ;) have you read any of my other posts before?

BTW yes, I did take geography and did very well, it was a joke pertaining to exactly what Johnny SixPack said... But being who I am, If it offends you I will apologize that you took it in a mean way instead of a humorous way it was intended ;)

now bring back that wine  :nana:
