I know its not a mopar but my little girl has always wanted one. Its a 1970 VW with a crank back sunroof, kinda cool :icon_smile_big:! She has alot of plans for it and even wants to paint it plum crazy like my charger :2thumbs:. She named her lady Herbie. It runs and drives really good, think it will be a good cool 1rst car for her. Cant wait to restore it with her as she likes to work on cars with me :2thumbs:.

It reminds me of the things we did with my friend's old VW.

Going to the mountains and going down the hillsides, I mean, literally.

Hitting the parking brake in the rain and doing 180s.

The engine that would keep going no matter what we did to it.

Hitting a curb so hard it bent one of the wheels to a severe angle, and we still made it home.

Replacing a hole in the floor with a piece of plywood and then just going on like nothing happened.

We had so much fun with the car.  Now on yours, she looks quite happy, and nothing wrong with that.

Congrats!

(just tell her not to go down hillsides with it)
Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

Charger_Fan

That's pretty cool. How long before she can drive it?
I used to know a guy in high school who could have the engine out of one of those in 20 minutes from the time he drove it in.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

VW's have a bunch of character IMO  :2thumbs:

I had one as a kid and nearly froze to death in it, couldn't keep the frost off the windshield but I loved it.

I still get weak when I see one.....
Sold mine last year to fund the Charger and I regret it alot since I don't have any car to jump in and go cruising in the summer season.... :brickwall: :brickwall:
And I had alot more $$$ into the car then i got for it.....

Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

@ six-tee-nine:
look it at this way, your Charger is 1000 times cooler then a VW beetle.
And it's allways this the same story... selling your pride for less then you have into it.

@ heidifisher:
maybe us, europeans, can find difficult to find parts overhere. Lets us know maybe we can help you out. Just a thought.
Good luck on the resto!

Welcome. I have had a few bugs and buses in my time - lots of funny stories. If you got the cash, you can really tweak out a 1600 (couple of Dells, big pistons and jugs, purple cam, nice heads, etc., etc.) and make it embarrass lots of ricers.

Your family picture looks a little something like mine used to.
