Anyone seen a rear transmission seal like this before?

I was looking for a new rear seal for a used 727 I just bought and found this.
I have never seen one with bearings in the seal that comes with a hunk of pipe before.  Have I been missing something all this time?

That hunk of pipe is actually the rear bushing that goes inside the tail housing.   The front yoke of the driveshaft slips into this bushing.

I am thinking that you can buy those two parts a lot cheaper from the auto parts places than the place that your picture came from.

That is not bearings in the seal, those are drops of grease that they put on the seal lip to lube the seal :2thumbs:
