Grill on the charger

Hi

The 69 Dodge Charger grill had a cross mesh patern (squares) but the bits that covered the lights (the parts that fold up) were like the 68 (non see through, vertical lines) ?

The 68 charger, centre section, could you see through it into the engine bay like that of the 69?

How would the car be effected with the wind going through the grill into engine bay vs that of it not going in (like the 68 if that be the case)?

Is there better cooling if the air did go in like the 69?

The air passing through the grill, did that make the car more aerodynamic so to speak as the air would not get stuck in the front, or what?

Just after some ideas. Thanks.

Troy

The center of the grill is aways open - that's how the radiator gets air to keep things cool. The headlight doors are nearly identical between the two years (only the placement of the badges changed in 69). The vertical fins weren't painted silver in 69 but they are still there. The grill acts like a giant parachute so, if anything, it's bad for aerodynamics. That's why the Charger 500 and Daytona (aerodynamic packages) did away with it.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
