Somewhere there are pictures of my dad's '70 R/T that was turned into a dirt track car and supposedly is still sitting in someones field. Dad sold the car in the early 80's I believe after I was born. The car (originally Plum Crazy) was painted Hot Pink and I think a roll cage added. The car was used for a cannonball race across the states which was aired on TV (my grandma remembers seeing the car on an episode). From there the car made it back into Canada and was used for Dirt Track racing after being modified and stripped some more. I used to have a scanned picture of a newspaper clip that a member had sent me way back on the original boards. Sadly it disappeared when someone hacked my email account.

i remember Car and Driver magazine had a cannonball article with a panther pink '70 charger mentioned and shown in a small picture back in the very early '90s or perhaps the late '80s...
maybe they could help you find that article?... good luck....

Thanks, I'll maybe try contacting them and posting it on the Car and Driver forums! A sad ending for my dad's car. The engine wasn't numbers matching as my dad had been forced to replace it twice but the tranny was the same. For those that didn't know:

1970 Dodge Charger R/T
Plum Crazy Purple
440 Magnum 4bbl
4spd

If anyone wants copies of a few old pics of the car just ask and I'll send them.
