Well I've got a buyer for the 1967 cougar I picked up a few months ago. I've got about 10 grand saved up, but I'd really only like to spend 5-6K. I'm thinking a small block 68-74 B body or 67-69 A body maybe a 66-67 B body if its a good deal. I'm hoping to find something soon before school lets out for summer. I really enjoyed the driveability of the cougar. My satellite always had something going wrong, it was risky taking it out for a spin. I've been driving the cougar daily without any problems, plus I get about 16-17 mpg which is nice. I'm going to look for the same thing with my next mopar. I'd like to be able to drive it everyday if I want. I love the 2nd gen. chargers, but they're just too expensive for me right now. Maybe later on in life.

Well, if you don't mind driving to Salt Lake, a local guy's asking $5K for this '70 Duster. His ad reads...


Nice clean original 1970 Duster.  Car lived a sheltered life in Seattle, WA.  I purchased from the original owners.  Looks to be original paint.  Super nice interior.  Slant six, auto, power steering, manual brakes.  Almost new tires.  Runs/drives nicely.

Asking 5000.00 for this clean Duster.

thanks man, but I'd rather it be in Arizona so I could easily look at the car in person. What year/model do you guys think is the best bang for the buck in the list I named above?

Man I was going to suggest a Duster or Dart or something. They can be had pretty cheap.

And, if you're not looking to have a street brawler, the slant six in those things will net you a good 18/22 mpg

I'd probably take the duster over the cougar, but if you throw some cragars on the cougar, its not a bad car. Plus plenty of cheap performance parts for the motor.

yeah they can be made to look alright, not my cup of tea though. I'm hoping to pick up a small block or 383 68-74 b body or 67-69 dart. I watched some of the videos of my old 1968 Sport Satellite, 383 car that I sold in december 07. I regret selling it. It was a cool car. Wouldn't mind replacing it with another satellite like that.

Bull - I had almost forgotten about those, really nice looking cars in my opinion. I'd actually really like to find one of those. Hell, I really just want a mopar again.

Notchbacks are lighter, but you can sleep (or do various "other" things) in the back of a fastback...  Ragtops are always nice, too...



Honestly, I still haven't made up my mind which ones I like the best, so I'm gonna try to get one of each. :icon_smile_big:

Love Barracuda fastbacks, but decent ones are hard to find these days for a reasonable amount - I've been looking for another "driver" Mopar lately and this was a candidate (but really want a '69-70 superbee), but never could find one in the condition I wanted for a price I was willing to pay...

They seemed to ALWAYS be in short supply.

Before I got locked into ChargerMania, when I was like 15-16 and starting to really get into muscle cars, I was SO into fastback 'cudas.  I still have a Monogram model of one somewhere that I never built.  I wanted the 340s.  An older friend of my sisters at the time had been looking for one for YEARS, this was 1976, and he could not find one.  Needless to say, I never did and switched my interest to Chargers.

Even today, I have never seen the 383 big block version, and those notchbacks and convertibles are rare as hen's teeth.

I've been looking for an old Mopar as well. With prices around here (Minnesota) for $5-6k you could get a decent '66-'67 B-Body, a project '71-'74 B-Body, a decent '70-Later A-Body, and a damn nice C-Body. Personally, I'm thinking of picking up a '67 or '68 Fury. You can get them dirt cheap (a driver for under $3k), most come with a 383, and they can be quite fast (they only weight a few hundred pounds more than a Charger). The only one I've found around here is in a carport and its really rusty, must have been brought here from somewhere else, because the quarters and rockers are rotted pretty bad. Hopefully I find something soon so I can have it ready to go by summers end. The sale is going pretty good so far.

A rust free AZ car is a rare find for the east coast people. you might want to post the car on here in the cars for sale section to boost interest in the car.

Got a friend with a 69 383 'Cuda packaged notchback.  Owned it when he was younger, sold it, and then bought it back a few years ago.  Doubt he'll ever sell it again.

Used to be 7 second gen Barracudas around here, counting mine, my friends, 3 other 67s (2 notches and a fastback), a 68 fastback, and a 68 340 Formula S vert in pieces.  67 fastback got parted out, and I lost track of the other 2 67s, believe one was parted out.  Now there's just mine, my friends, and the 2 68s.

One day left. I'm really happy with price. I would be happy if it didn't even go up at all during the last few hours. Still haven't really seen anything interesting around here. Hopefully I can get something soon so this summer I can get it ready to go while I have so much time on my hands. After seeing the thread about changing Mr. Angry I think I'd like to put those nascar style wheels and tires on whatever I end up getting.
