In your picture it's hard to tell... did you install a new complete quarter panel on the driver side?

Yes, new AMD full quarter, dutchman and trunk floor. The quarter and dutchman had to be altered to fit properly. They're certainly not exact repro's.

I didn't install them with the car on the rotisserie though. It was mounted on a frame fixture and I placed it back on the rotisserie to finsh the body work. I had to coat the entire roof and most of the right quarter with Rage just to get it right. This car sat in a ravine with the back end down in the ravine. The front of the car was rust free, but the rear had issues. Didn't want to part the car out since it was a decent 383 4-speed post car.
Soon it will be an A12 clone. Black with black leather interior, 440-6, 4-speed, modern A/C and 4 wheel disc brakes, magnum 500's.

You will have real fun getting the nose and center hood body line to line up . Then getting the fenders and lower valance pieces to line up with the nose . They definitely were not perfect from the factory .

You are doing a great job   :2thumbs:

Time for some paint. After going back and forth many times with the decission on the appearance of the undercarriage... we finally decided on one.  We went with a factory appearing paintjob.  The "Dip Primer" was sprayed first and then Vitamin C Orange was sprayed as it was in the factory.  To protect the bottom, a satin clear was sprayed over everything on the bottom.

Sorry to leave you hanging.  Here are the pictures of the doors and decklid.  The fenders and hood have also been jambed in but I do not have pictures yet.  You can actually see one of the fenders in the background on the last picture.

I don't know why these pictures turned out the way they did... I guess the lighting was off a little.  I don't know.

Looks very nice. Lighting for pictures can be tricky at times, and make the colors not match what they are when you see a car in person.

CornDogsCharger

I know it... in some of the pictures, the color looks correct.... but most of the pictures look like Hemi Orange when actually the color is Vitamin C Orange.  But trust me... the color is a dead on match to the original shade of Vit C Orange.

Is there any settings on the camera that you can adjust the white balance setting? If so that is one simple way to make the pictures turn out nearly identical to the actual way they look in person.

CornDogsCharger

Interesting.... hmmm, I'll have to check into that.  Thanks

No problem at all. I know that on my Nikon D100 you can adjust the white balance using a white board, same thing for video camera's. I adjust my camera just about everytime I go somewhere to shoot, so you can set the computer in the camera to what a "true white" is in the current situation. Then the colors around you appear as they do in real life, not tinted yellow due to florescent lights, or dull when in bright sun and the likes.

Justin,

This has been a treat to see your progress on the former Beeler Bird. I am still trying to gather some additional data for you and will get that soon. BTW Your work is just excellent, and your attention to detail is some of the best I've ever seen. This post really should come with popcorn. Nice work.

p.s. ((I will miss the original paint scheme. It was fun.))

Beautiful Job. By the way, MCG (and Rob Wolf) can kiss my ass for the negative article they wrote about your plans to restore this car. It's gonna be awesome!
