Thanks to everyone for the comments.  I really appreciate it.  Lately I have been doing a lot of the smaller detailed stuff.  Here's a few more recent photos.  The last 2 pictures were taken during cutting and buffing the fenders

I have a patent on that.... it's called the anti-roll-away device.  I invented it.  If you barely lean on that thing it goes everywhere.  haha

I borrowed the legs/casters from a friend.  They're nice.  I plan on making a set and when I do, I'll use the locking casters.

GREAT WORK!! :2thumbs:

If I had the opportunity to do that kind of work, in a nice spacious modern shop like that, I'd likely stayed an Autobody mechanic!! :scratchchin:
Unfortunately, most of the shops I've worked in were dungeons in comparison.

it's still a little short   ;)

CornDogsCharger

Hey guy's, thanks for the comments.  As for the body shop, I've worked in a couple dungeons myself.  This one is by far the best.  If there is something new out there... chances are, we've got it.  I'm very fortunate for that :)

Hey Travis... you're a cajun... need I say more?  HA!  I'd have to say that we are probably right at or past the 150k mark.

Since the car will pretty much look the same for a while, I guess I'll start posting pictures of the detailed stuff.  Most of the major stuff is already done and ready to install.  The cluster and the rest of the dash was sent off to Performance Car Graphics to be rebuilt.  The AM radio was checked and is in working order.  The rear bumper along with the wing glass frames have been rechromed.  All of the trim has been polished and it ready to install.  We bought NOS wing gaskets and marker lenses.  Fellow member "nascarxx29" sent me a much needed liscene plate bracket... THANKS!!!  The exhaust has already been ceramic coated.... and the list goes on and on.  I'll keep you updated.

Time for an update.  First of all.... the car FINALLY grew a wing!!!  I also installed the freshly polished original tail lights, housings, and quarter extension.  If you look carefully you will notice that I also installed the trunk harness and gas tank also.  Shortly after I installed the vinyl top.

The headliner was also installed.  It turned out pretty nice.  I was worried about the sail panel area because it is such a long stretch from the last bow to the package tray.  Plus a few more random photos.

What I usually do is put a piece of tape over the head of the bolt.  When the socket goes over the bolthead, the tape serves as a cushion.  Once it is where you want it, you just pull off the tape.  Every once in a while you will need to touch up a corner or two, but overall it's well worth it.

Both seams are already made in the top.  I order all of my tops from Legendary Auto Interiors.  They have the best quality interiors.  They also give a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the stitching... making sure that it is exactly how the factory did it.
