Check this out. So my mom's kindergarten class was having "Hat Day" a while back where kids bring hats and they can trade. Well this woman my mom works with brought this hat. None of the kids wanted it so she threw it in the trash. My mom walked by and dug it out of the trash. Apparently the woman's husband got it years ago at a nascar race. Who would want to get rid of something like this?

What a fun way to get lice :smilielol:

They are all washed and checked thoroughly for lice. That is why the red is faded onto the white on the hat I got.

Just curious here, but do you really think the husband knows that his Petty autographed hat was taken from the house and thrown in the trash?? :shruggy: :shruggy:

Too bad you don't live close by. I have some chemicals that will take the red out of the white. It would take a hour or so but would look good after the fact.  Very cool hat indeed.

If you soak the white part of the hat in Biz laundry detergent and water, the red will come out of it. You might want to set it overnight. I have had this happen before, and Biz works great. You can pick some up from Walmart, or someplace like that.

The woman's husband was the one that said to take it to school. He gave a couple of other hats and said whatever was left over just throw in the trash.
