Well, went to my first cruise night.  I had a nice time, not something I can do that often as I have 3 kids at home to tend to.  Seems like everytime I take a drive, something breaks.  I was coming home on the highway doing about 65 mph.  Took the downhill exit and Lo and behold, the Power booster on the brakes went.   :brickwall:  It Could of not been a nice scene at the bottom of the exit, guess I'm lucky in a major way.  Oh well, pull it out and ship it out, and again the car sits.  Funny thing is I'm getting use to this. :eek2:   Enjoy the pictures.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I know brake issues.

On my trip to vegas years ago I lost brake power going down this huge hill. Come to find out that it was just the vacume line came loose on the booster. Clamped that puppy down real good and have not had a problem since.  :2thumbs:

Everyones right though. Car looks awesome Rob!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.  Vacuum line was first thing I checked when in the garage.  It makes a huge air sucking sound when I apply the brakes, but is quiet when the brakes are not on.  Oh well.  No thats a 383 4 spd car, looking like an R/T.  He put 383 on the door.  Don't ask me why he has an R/T stripe and 383 on the door, I didn't want to be rude and ask, not my style.  I'm waiting for Chris to ask me about the hood pins?  They are added on.

To be fair, when I restored the engine compartment I pulled out the booster to paint it, I was stupid in trying to pull the brake rod out ( they don't come out ) and snapped an internal spring.  The booster restore guy said don't worry about it, it's just an over kill spring not really needed.  Probably what happened is the spring got in the way of the rubber boot inside and cut it.  So actually probably my fault on this one.

Well then at least you know why the part broke down. It's always better than have to look  :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Sent my Booster out to Booster Dewey in MO.  He said 130.00 plus 14 shipping  which is good since it cost me 27.00 to ship to him.  It will come back glass beaded, rebuilt and painted semi flat black.  He had none on the shelf to ship out for trade.  He said these are very rare and hard to find.  He said people are always upgrading to power disk and thats why they are hard to find.  He bought a core a short while ago and that was 200.00. Should take 3 to 4 days to rebuild and hope to have it soon, so I can hit the road again until the next item breaks. :smilielol:

That's about how the booster was when I first bought my '76 F250. Everything was fine, until I hit the brakes, then major sucking sound...so bad that it would almost kill the engine at idle.  Yep, new booster & it feels good as new again.

Great looking Charger, glad the trip home didn't end up with bruised fenders. :-\

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Hopefully that's a typo.  The only Booster Dewey I know of is across the river from me in Portland, Oregon, not MO (Missouri)
He's the best there is so you did good by sending it to him.  :2thumbs:

You obviously haven't let your troubles get the best of you, so kudos for that.  Your pay off is a beautiful ride.

You're not the only one with bad luck.  My buddy just bought some one of one '69  Mustang 428 SCJ drag Pak 4spd that was "done".  He paid big bucks for it and it has a cracked block, flat cam, etc.  New block alone cost him $9k.

Yeah but I am not selling it as a show car! Maybe I should!  Bondo it up and paint it real fast and sell it for 40grand!HAHA!

230000+ miles on it and I would still drive it where ever I needed to go. Its been to hell and back 4 or 5 times at least! I know it would get there abd back 1 more time at least!
