What to do with my current #'s matching motor and trans?

Hey all, I am looking for some suggestions on what to with my numbers matching 383 and 727 that is currently in my 69 Charger. I will be installing a new stroker motor in the next month or two and don't need this motor and trans taking up space in my garage. Now before anyone flames my thread, this is a matching numbers motor for a 71 Challenger, not my car. Some time long before I bought my Charger someone dropped in this combo. The motor is a low compression 383 2v but it runs very well. I put about $2500 into it about 4 years ago and it's only got about 3K miles on it. It has a mopar cam in it (junk in my opinion), stock intake, new Carter AFB, 906 heads, windage tray, new pan, HV oil pump, etc. The bottom end of the motor is all new. The trans has a shift kit in it and shifts/runs very well. The motor is painted and looks very nice.

I put quite a bit of time and money into the motor and would think that to someone doing a 71 Challenger, this number matching combo might be desirable. Obviously it's not a high dollar motor but I'd hate to part the thing.

Anyone have any suggestions? Any idea what this is worth today? Timing could be good with the reintroduction of the Challenger? Does anyone know of a good Challenger forum that I could post this on? Or, should I try to sell on ebay? Here's a shot of the motor installed.

Any thougths would be great. Thanks for reading.

It might be worth a lot if you can actually find the right car for it but even then it's not a Hemi or 440 and it's not out of an R/T if the intake is stock so I wouldn't get too excited. Otherwise it's worth about what a slightly used 383/727 is worth.

technically its really only #'s matching for the exact challenger it came out of.
But maybe a guy wants a 1971 date coded drivetrain for his 71.

Basically , what Bull said - it's worth what a relatively fresh warmed over 383 / auto trans combo is worth.
Find some others for sale in like condition and price accordingly.

That's a beautiful engine...it's gotta be worth something to someone with a project car. A 2 barrel doesn't sound like such a bad idea nowadays.
