I know it's an old post but did anything new ever come of this?

I should drive to Hunt County and re-file the criminal charges for him embezzling my pay, and then file a "Bogus Check Report" for his RUBBER CHECKS (Ca Child Support said it took a LONG time to get the info that they bounced)...   He's a Louse.  I'm going to do it soon.  Then I'm going to pay "Bubba" a carton of cigarettes to "make friends" with him.

I completely agree with Mike at BEA, once a company makes a part be it correct or not, If it's cheaper it sells. And if it has problems typically this doesn't become apparent until sometime later. The problem is even after it's found it the quality sucks. It usually kills the chances of another company tooling up to do a correct product as themarket just will not bear the costs of 2 ( or more) companies making the same thing
Who would have thought pieces of plastic would cost so much to make.  Everyone thinks of plastic parts as being cheap, and metal good.  Why are there so many companies making body parts now?  What does it take to make those molds?

To do it right? About $180k+ before you have something to sell. There are 7 pieces to a 68 grill (5 to a 69 but 2 are the same as 68) and each requires its own tooling. The factory used injection molding which uses high pressure and a relatively strong ABS(?) type plastic mixture. Premier Plastics uses a pour in mold which makes weaker parts that warp and bend easier - but the tooling is many times cheaper. The part may physically look the same but it won't perform to the same standards.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

But in the case of Premier Plastics the issue of it not performing to the same standards doesn't matter anyway... cuz you ain't gettin' the part.  :D

Anyone who's done business with them and been had, can pursue this statute without going out of their own state;

Felony. I'm sure the defense would argue failure of proof of intent, but even so, it's court time from everyone entering the derby.

Any Updates? :scratchchin: :shruggy:
Since 2009? No one that I know of has gotten a part yet and Premier Plastics folded up shop (along with whatever sample pieces people had loaned them). I wouldn't be holding out for a resolution...

I never got my original mint grill back. I sold the center repro piece they sent me and recouped a few bucks, but nothing compared to my $1000+ grill that disappeared :(

And yet, our own "Bobfist" actually did this and offered his very nice repros here, only to hear a bunch of complaints about pricing.....

The one I had purchased for the 1971 Cuda had warped in the box I had it in over the course of 12 to 18 months. It was soft enough to where I think that by attaching it to the grille support it would straighten out & be usable, but I sold the car along with the grille so I never tried to find out.

It was going to be used for a driven car & not a show car. For the $550 at the time, it was still a better option than paying triple for an original that needed to be repaired.  :Twocents:

I recently moved to a new house and was going through boxes I had in the garage.  I came across a box that I had not seen in a long time and opened it up.  Inside was the 1968 center section that they sent me.  Then it pissed me off all over again because they never sent the surrounds or headlight doors.  This box has not been opened since I got it 4 years ago.  Still in the bubble wrap and packing peanuts, the grille has cracked on one side and has 4 fins that are cracked.  It feels really brittle too.
