I'm converting my 68 Charger from A/C to non-A/C. I am now going through the under dash wiring harness and fixing any problems before installing it back in the car (there are several). I do not have the dash controls for the old A/C unit, but from looking at the FSM it appears that this 6 prong plug pictured below plugged into the back of the heater-A/C controls. It appears I need to cut this off and re-wire a 3 prong plug to accept the plug coming off my new heater- non A/C dash controls.
I know there are several other wires I need to reroute or eliminate. Has anyone else done this, does this seem right?

Also, I currently have the entire dash out of the car. I plan on assembling it and installing it as a whole unit. Is there anyway to test this before installing in the car?

So I managed to stump all you smart asses

I figured it out. I shouldn't try to decipher wiring while having a beer (or two).

The six prong plug in the pic above plugs into the side of the A/C and heater control switch by the vacuum ports.
I checked the plug ends on the heater control switch on my 72 parts Charger, non A/C. And a spare 71 A/C heater switch for my 71 Charger. And a spare 68 non A/C heater switch. What I found is that the A/C heater control switch has a 3 prong female connector, the non A/C switches have a 3 prong male connector :ahum: . So that's what threw me off.
The plugs for the blower motor resistor are also different, but I used another plug from my spare 72 harness for that. Also had to re-feed the power from the fuse box and disconnected the A/C wiring from the A & B terminals on the bulkhead connector.
Now I just hope everything works when I plug it back in. ;)
