Guys

Need some help, I'm trying to put the correct valve covers on my engine ('72 400 HP no air). I thought this would be easy but there seems to be several  types with the biggest diffrence being extra "stuff" on the passanger side cover. can you tell which ones are right, or perhaps better yet have a good pic of correct valve covers

Thanks!!

AK

i have this pic i took of Rallye's '72 400 CI. I took hope it helps but it is orange...  :shruggy:
i seem to recall him saying something to the effect that it was originally blue...

the middle one and the one to the far right.

the ones on the far left (both) go to a smogger 74/75 and up truck/car passenger side; the 2nd one from the right is the drivers side to one of those

Hmm well the ones you picked were from the '76 motor I have in it  now. So those extra brackets and stuff are OK, I just need a bracket fro wire harness and 2 plug wires

Thanks

:iagree:

yes they are later engines, being taller covers, but the closer to the 72/74  kind between the ones you have

bill, usually the less wire loom holders, the earlier the model of VC.. hence I said that...  those valve covers I picked looked exactly the same as the ones from my 73 Charger.

Because of the exhaust manifolds the HP big blocks almost always route the #7 spark plug wire along and over the back of the right VC, there will be a bracket alongside the wiring clips and at the rear of the VC for the plug wire grommet.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Copy all that's what I'll go with...anyone need any extra valve covers???
