So I have allways wanted to drive onto another car. Well, today we were getting things ready to take to the scrap yard and I decided to have some fun.

What person that lives in rural America with any self respect would want to referred to by that term ? That word , no matter how it started , has become a word of disrespect . You can't call black people the N - word ( look up how that started ) . You say that and black and white people have a fit .If I used it here I would be banned and most you you would be up in arms about it .  Can't say many words because of the PC BS . So why is it ok to use this word ? I think it is degrading as any of those other words . I'm not trying to start a arguement just my own opinion .

Spent well over a decade in the South and I knew many self-respecting people who referred to themselves as "redneck"... a point of pride at times.

I know a few blacks, and they use the "N" word more then any white person I ever heard :yesnod:   And I know a few whites that used the "N" word so much, they wouldn't even know they said it including my ex-wife. And she has a few black friends yet. So you can read into that one any way you want.

This is a message board. Anyone can comment. It may not be what you like or want to hear. It may not be what I want to hear. The fact is that you can comment as can others. The only thing we ask is that you think about others and that you DON'T get nasty. Also, no politics.

That said, I didn't read this thread. I don't think I should HAVE to read every thread. I believe everyone here needs to think about what they say and how they say it and those that don't exactly agree with everything everyone else has to say can make comment. Just take things with a grain of salt as I don't think anyone here types everything exactly the way the are thinking it.

Um I DO LIVE in Rural America, as do a BUNCH of my friends, in the SOUTH (Alabama) and I have called myself a redneck more than once.

AND like Was stated by TK73, in the south, being a redneck is a point of pride.  I don't think the word means what you assume it means.
