Dodge predicts brisk sales for Challenger
http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080417/BUSINESS01/804170408

"Dodge expects hot sales for the first two years with its new Challenger sport coupe and has built a business plan in which the car will make money over its life cycle if sales fall off then.

The forecast is refreshingly realistic. Performance coupes, with the notable exception of the evergreen Ford Mustang, generally sell strongly for a couple of years, then fall sharply as new models take the spotlight in the trend-driven market segment. Despite decades of history, most automakers seem surprised when their new coupes follow that pattern, making Dodge's strategy refreshingly realistic.

Chrysler expects to sell 20,000 to 30,000 Challengers a year once it has the full model line in production. Chrysler will build a limited edition of 6,400 425-horsepower Challenger SRT8 versions for the 2008 model year. The full model line hits the road this fall as 2009 models, adding a 250-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and 370-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Production of 2009 Challengers begins this summer at Chrysler's Brampton, Ontario, plant.

The Challenger's projected sales graph looks like a hockey stick, level for a couple of years and then declining".

I lucked out tonight. Decided to head down to the original bobs big boy in burbank for their friday night classic car show...
Guess what drove by feet from me and turned into the parking lot?
:drool5: :icon_smile_cool:

had the 6.1 hemi and sounded mean.

he popped the hood, had the windows rolled down, everything.
Problem was it was dark by the time I could work my way through the crowd to get photos. This is the only one from my camera that came out alright but Ive got more on my cell of the front, engine, and interior Ill put up later.

It seems some were released before April 21st, then. :scratchchin:
Man, I wish one of those was heading to my house, sometime before.... :pigsfly: ...or the next decade.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

the Manufacture plates are often driven by media testers,.. i happened upon the new LX "Sedan" a few months before they were even previewed on the internet, just by chance while driving home one night... boy was i dissapointed.  :-\  alot of them journalists get the cars to test here in Cali. it's a called long lead previews... though usually done on a test track ,.. most recently it were the A-class mercedes and the ford edge... they try to create a buzz, by showing them around here and hope the kids will respond and make it cool...
